Football team punches ticket to the next round

Hilton Head Island(Opens in a new window) had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They breezed past the South Aiken Thoroughbreds(Opens in a new window) to the tune of 52-24 on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Seahawks sure are getting used to it with their ninth in a row.

Hilton Head Island's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Derrick Raniszewski(Opens in a new window), who threw for 271 yards and three touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes. Those 271 passing yards gave Raniszewski a new career-high. Thaddeus Czarnecki(Opens in a new window) helped Raniszewski out on the ground, rushing for 84 yards and three TDs on only nine carries.

Hilton Head Island's record is now 10-1. As for South Aiken, they dropped their record down to 5-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Hilton Head Island will square off against Wilson on Friday. South Aiken does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
